Meet Carmen, our Director as well as Founder of Venture Intellectual Property (VIP). She was well-trained in one of the largest and top-tier law firms in Malaysia, where she garnered extensive experience in the area of Intellectual Property (IP) law, including trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyright, geographical indications, plant variety protection, domain names and trade secrets.

Carmen handles all aspects of IP matters and specialises in providing strategic consultation and personalised advice on IP protection according to clients’ IP needs or interests in a timely and efficient manner. She has advised many foreign and local clients ranging from Fortune 500 entities to Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), ranging in various fields including F&B, fashion, cosmetics, medicals and pharmaceuticals, healthcare, biotechnology, genetics, chemicals, banking and finance, automotive industry, electricals and electronics, computer and information technology and so on in registering their IP in Malaysia and overseas

As a science graduate majoring in Chemistry and Biology, Carmen started her career as a Chemist in a renowned multinational laboratory analytical testing company, followed by a Biotechnology Laboratory Technologist specialising in genetics and DNA sequencing prior to venturing into IP industry. Strong academic background and extensive experience in IP, science and R&D fields enable Carmen to understand the clients’ ideas and inventions easily, yet formulating technical and strategic solutions to protect their innovations and creations.

Carmen always strives to deliver professional and cost-effective solutions to assist clients in protecting and enhancing their IP rights, and to develop personalised strategies which are integrated with their business goals, domestically and globally.
